Stray Gods: The Role-Playing Musical Release Date Delayed One Week

Stray Gods: The Role-Playing Musical has been delayed by one week.  Initially due out on August 3, the musical RPG will now hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on August 10. As for why, publisher Humble Games and developer Summerfall Studios says it is taking the extra week to work on performance parity across all platforms and to allow players the space to play Larian Studios’ upcoming RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3.  Here’s what Humble Games and Summerfall Studios have to say about the Stray Gods delay:  “We’re so excited - Stray Gods is under a month away! We’re counting the days and we know you are too, but we need to make a slight adjustment to the calendar. We’re moving our launch date to August 10th, 2023. We want everyone to have...

UK Regulator CMA Extends Deadline In Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard Acquisition Case

U.K. regulatory agency, the Competition and Markets Authority, has extended its deadline for delivering a potentially new ruling on Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard acquisition by six weeks.  In April, the CMA blocked this acquisition over cloud gaming concerns, making Microsoft’s fight for the green light in this acquisition more challenging. But it shifted its sights on the Federal Trade Commission in the U.S. afterward, with plans to appeal the CMA’s ruling in the meantime.  Earlier this week, California Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley denied the FTC’s request for a preliminary injunction in its case to block Microsoft and Xbox from acquiring Activision Blizzard. Shortly after that decision, Microsoft announced it paused its appeal efforts in the U.K. to negotiate with the CMA. The deadline for the CMA to listen and consider Microsoft’s new but currently unknown proposal to have the regulatory agency...

EA Sports FC 24 Revealed With September Release Date

During today's official reveal livestream, EA Sports revealed EA Sports FC 24, the replacement for its overwhelmingly popular FIFA franchise. The move away from the FIFA license was announced last year, and today, we got our first look at this year's EA Sports soccer title. The big pitch this year from EA Sports is around its advanced technology. EA's proprietary Frostbite engine returns, but with enhancements, including the new Sapien character model skeletons first introduced through our Madden NFL 24 coverage last month. The skeleton ensures that players look more true to life when standing still but also in motion, making for more realistic movement that affects both the game's visuals and gameplay. This year's implementation of Frostbite also includes new GPU cloth technology, which is meant to ensure that players' kits move like real-world materials in reaction to player...

For any Americans thinking, “But we got the first Clock Tower on PlayStation,” actually, we didn’t. The 1997 game known as “Clock Tower,” which did release in the West, was actually Clock Tower 2 and was titled as such in Japan (watch us play it in this classic episode of Replay). The actual first game arrived on Super Famicom (SNES) and stars Jennifer Simpson, an orphan adopted by the Barrows family, only to find that a murderous stalker called the Scissorman is terrorizing their mansion.
