Summer Game Fest 2023 opened its show with an impressive, unexpected announcement. The remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is still in development, but Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a wholly new title that feels a bit closer to Prince's original 2D roots. The gameplay showed an impressive mix of flashy combat and high-speed platforming – much faster then the methodical platforming that inspired it. The protagonist, who has historically always just been called the Prince, looks a bit like his Sands of Time iteration, but otherwise appears to be a totally new character names Sargon. Regarding the story a press release for the game reads, "In this brand-new adventure, players will embody Sargon, a young, gifted warrior, member of an elite group called The Immortals. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has slumbered in development hell since its 2019 reveal, but a much-anticipated update appears to be on the way.  A tweet from the game’s official account invites fans to tune in this September for a “big announcement.” The team also shares a fresh batch of screenshots, which you can view in the gallery below. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge keeps the ninja party going with the reveal of its Dimension Shellshock DLC. Launching later this year, this upcoming add-on takes the Turtles and their friends through time and space to take on new threats with the help of a familiar ally. Ronin rabbit Usagi Yojimbo joins the game as a playable character. The samurai warrior has starred in his own self-titled comic series since the ‘80s, but many mainstream fans are likely familiar with him from his numerous crossover appearances in TMNT media over the decades. Netflix has pulled back the curtains on four upcoming games coming to its gaming platform. Those games are Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, The Queen's Gambit Chess, Cut the Rope Daily, Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed, and Paper Trail.  There are already 60 games on Netflix available to all subscribers and these five games will join the lineup this summer. More specifically, Oxenfree II hits Netflix (mobile), Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, and Mac on July 12, while The Queen's Gambit Chess hits Netflix on July 25. Final Fantasy art is some of my favorite in all of games. The series' visuals fall somewhere between realism and fantasy, and it’s always fun to see how Square Enix studios leverage more powerful hardware to bring worlds to life. These settings, characters, and monsters are memorable, and a large reason for that is the art. It’s striking and unique – you know it’s Final Fantasy when you see it.  With each new Final Fantasy, Square Enix has a chance to solidify characters and worlds into the zeitgeist of gaming, like the company has done in the past with Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud Strife, Final Fantasy X’s Zanarkand, and more.
